Frederick Desjardins(Mauritian) and his wife Aurélie, live in their own house on the property. Frederick has 10 years experience as a cook in a 5* hotel, he is athletic and passionate about nature, hiking in the forest, water sports, Kite surfing ...
When he is out, there are always staff available and some even live on site with their families.

The owners are Mauritians. The husband has been the director of two of the most beautiful and well known 5* hotels on the island for the last 15 years and he has been in the hotel business for 25 years.
The wife has overseen all details of architecture and decoration herself and spends most of her time embellishing the house and gardens.

With this property, their dream is to create a haven of peace where they can come and relax.
The owners do not live at Lakaz.

Restaurant services
Breakfast and dinner (included in the tariffs), lunch on request.

The Breakfast is served between 7.00 am and 10.00 am: Coffee, expresso, tea, chocolate, fresh fruit juice, homemade bread, homemade jam, butter, cheese, cereals, fruits and eggs from the farm.
The Dinner is served around 20h00 – one service only: 1 x starter, 1 x main course, 1 x desert , coffee , tea or citronelle infusion.
For lunch, you will find several local restaurants ( “table d’hôte” ) in the village of Chamarel, 10mn walking distance or Lakaz can prepare, as well, your lunch on request.

Activities and relaxation at/from Lakaz Chamarel
A living room provided with a chimney, a stereo chain, a TV room with a television set with numerical bouquet and games at the disposal of the customers.

- Nature walks and discovery of the flora and the fauna in the mountains and nature park around Chamarel with your own guide (charged extra).
