Deep Sea Fishing

The waters of Mauritius is a paradise for deep sea fishing.  Big fish such as the marlin, tuna, shark , barracuda are waiting to take you on!

The boats are luxurious and well equipped for relaxation, fishing and food. The departure is scheduled very early in the morning, at sunrise and return at about 12.00 pm  or 4.00pm as you wish.

It is recommended that you go out in a group, and share the cost and the fun as the price may be high...It would be hard to practice this event by oneself!

Deep sea fishing is like hunting.  Once out of the lagoon, you will be asked to cast your lines dressed with different baits and wait. 

The crew will keep watch for birds flying in the sky, and as soon as these are detected, the boat is set at full speed towards the the bids who will move with the school of fish, and the chase begins ... This particular chase may last about one hour and sometimes even longer!

The excitement increases, and everyone is on edge, eyes fixed on the rods and very attentive...  Once the whistling sound of the rod is heard, a member of the crew will sit you in one of the fixed chairs and put a belt around you, then it will be all up to you, and the party continues!.  

For security purposes you will remain securely seated in expectation of a marlin 100kg marlin or shark, and this may go on for hours.

The ideal catch will be the Blue Marlin, as this fish is a strong fighter and may weigh a few hundred kilos.  In fact, a few international fishing records have been beaten in these Mauritian waters.

You may also catch dorades, a meter or more in length,  good sized tuna, barraudas and baby sharks.

On rare occasions one may go home empty handed but surely with a memorable and fun day!
